A welcoming, comfortable, relaxed home from which to explore the beautiful surrounding area.
This property is a perfect base from which to explore the historic township of Swansea and the splendour of Great Oyster Bay and the Freycinet Peninsula. With three bedrooms it comfortably accommodates six people, and is great for couples or families.
There is plenty of off-street parking, so leave you car at the home when you wander 3 minutes into town for a coffee, a visit to the bakery, to one of the many restaurants or beaches.
Bedroom 1 - has a comfortable Queen bed and a large sliding wardrobe for your clothes.
Bedroom 2 - has 2 single beds and a large sliding wardrobe.
Bedroom 3 – also has 2 single beds and a small wardrobe.
The long lounge room is furnished with two 2-seater sofas and an armchair, nestled on cosy carpets. The reverse cycle air conditioner and portable panel heaters heat or cool the property to your personal comfort level and there is a small electric fireplace in the lounge room for ambience. During the day, sunlight floods into the room through two windows. In the evening, the smart TV enables you to stay up to date with your favourite Netflix programs.
The unlimited Wi-Fi is free and fast.
The solid pine table and chairs are classic Tasmanian in style and are perfect for a lunch or dinner with family/friends.
The kitchen is fully equipped, as you would expect. The oven and stove top are electric. The 390 litre fridge will safely hold all your food and drinks. There is a kettle, café style toaster, crockery, wine and water glasses, and lots of cooking utensils.
The laundry holds a top loading washing machine, complimented by a clothesline in the back yard and an indoor airer.
The area
The Freycinet Peninsula is on your doorstep, as is Coles Bay and Wineglass Bay. Maria Island is also a deservedly popular destination. Take a selfie on the local convict built – spiky bridge, or enjoy the walk past several buildings in town, steeped in history. The Bark Mill Tavern still has the bark milling equipment from which it gets its name on display.
The lovely township of Swansea is located on the east coast of Tasmania overlooking Great Oyster Bay and the Freycinet Peninsula. The Freycinet National Park is a 45-minute drive from Swansea and is the site of some of Tasmania's most spectacular beaches. Indeed, Wineglass Bay has been voted one of the top 10 beaches in the world. There are a variety of walks catering to all, including the challenging two-to-three-day Peninsula Circuit.
Heading south from Swansea is Maria Island. Easily accessible by ferry, it has something for everyone. There are fascinating convict ruins, beautiful scenery and amazing wildlife. Maria Island is also one of the best bird-watching spots in Tasmania. Maria Island is like stepping back in time. There are no motor vehicles and no shops.
Swansea itself is fascinating and is classified as a historic town. There are many historic buildings that can be discovered on a walking tour of the town. Around Swansea you'll find many great walks and stunning stretches of coastline lined with beaches.
